No Solo Locksmiths do not charge a call out charge. Some locksmiths will automatically include a charge for booking them to attend your issue, and this will be charged to you if you end up cancelling or if the locksmith is unsuccessful in solving the issue, this is known as a call out charge. At Solo Locksmiths we only charge a set rate for the labour while on site and will estimate the cost of the parts on the initial enquiry.

At Solo Locksmiths we are able to take Card, Cash or Cheque as payment, and can invoice for work completed totalling over £100 as long as we receive an email with the details of the job prior to attendance. Payment is required immediately following completion of work, or within two weeks of invoicing with prior agreement.

At Solo Locksmiths we specialise in non-destructive entry for windows, household doors and garage doors. We have, and carry, a multitude of tools, skills and experience that will help us gain safe entry to your property without the need to cause damage to your lock or door keeping the price as low as possible for you. We use tools such as lock picks and by-passing tool to overcome the security obstacle, getting you back into your home in good time and with peace of mind. However, here are occasions when a lock cannot be picked or bypassed, such as when there is a lock failure. In these situations, and after all other methods have been exhausted, we will recommend the least destructive method possible to gain entry. In cases such as these a new lock may be required and the price of which will be discussed prior to undergoing the procedure.
Yes. After gaining entry to a property, customers can often be concerned that the locks and security on their property is not good enough. We offer a free security survey and advise on how security can be improved on your property along with a full quote for the work. We can upgrade all your locks to British Standard one star to three star all the way up to Dimond certified locks. Often just general free advice can be supplied by Solo Locksmiths to help you make the most of your current security. However, if you want complete peace of mind Solo Locksmiths can happily supply you with a quote for a new Smart Alarm and CCTV System.

A smart security device such as a Smart Lock, Smart Alarm and Smart CCTV, is a device that communicates effectively with your other devices, such as your smart phone. With a Smart lock you will be able to see from anywhere if your door has been closed properly, if your children have arrived home or even with some smart locks, be able to unlock your door from miles away so as to let someone into your property who wouldn’t normally have access, such as a pet carer while you are on your holidays. A smart alarm and CCTV system allows you to monitor the security of your home from anywhere. Gone are the days of your house alarm siren going off only for you to find out it has been going all day while you have been out. With a smart alarm you will be notified directly to your phone if your alarm has been triggered, even down to which part of the house has been broken into, and with a Smart CCTV you are able to witness real time footage of your home and store/record sections of time to show later.

Solo Locksmiths work with, supply and have expertise in a wide variety of smart devices including several different brands of smart lock such as Yale, Ultion and Remote Lock. To determine which smart lock is right for you, you need to answer the following questions: 1: What type of door do I have, is it made of wood or UPVC etc, as some smart locks can only operate with certain types of door mechanisms. 2: What functionality do I want the smart lock to complete, to I want it to operate with a key pad and code, or do I want it to be opened via key fobs or via the Bluetooth on my phone. 3: How much would I be willing to spend, the price range of smart locks can vary greatly depending on the level of security you want. 4: Why do I need a smart lock, is it just for my general household use or am I wanting to use a smart lock for my air B&B.
